A Growing Guide to Pinny Arcade Backer Cards

Hi Pinny Pals!

Have you ever picked up a pin with an amazing decorative backer card and thought, WOW! I really need to keep this! Or maybe you’ve traded for a pin without its original card and found yourself wondering what the backer once looked like?

While the pin is usually the focus, some backer cards are little collectibles in their own right. Over the years, Pinny Arcade releases have featured unique artwork, clever designs that work WITH the pin, hidden details and even funny messages tucked away on the back of the card.

With the amazing help of PinnyShop.com and members of the wider Pinny community, I’ve started bringing those cards together in one place. This growing archive showcases Pinny Arcade pins released with unique or decorative backer cards, along with cards that have something interesting hiding on the reverse.

And when I say growing archive, I definitely mean it!

Tracking these down has been surprisingly difficult. Who thinks about taking a picture of the cardboard card with and without the pin? Plenty of pins in my own collection came to me through trades without their original backers. There are almost certainly cards out there that I don’t even know I’m missing yet.

That’s why this will always be a work in progress. As more cards, photos and information surface, I’ll continue adding them to the Gazette, as well as keeping an eye out for interesting backers accompanying future releases.

Help Build the Archive!

This is very much a community project, and I’d love your help filling in the gaps.

If you have a better photo, know of a backer I haven’t included, or have an original hiding in your collection that you are willing to donate for me to include, please get in touch through Slack or email, or add your photos directly to the community Google Photos album:
